I’ll try anything once…

It’s not that I don’t understand the point of social sites, I’ve just always perceived the social aspects of web2.0 as a means to whatever ends a given web app is trying to accomplish. That, and I’ve yet to find a featureful one done in a tasteful manner. I’d read about Vox in a TechCrunch post a bit ago and it seems like its got a good start nailing down ease of use and tasteful user experience. So last night, after another prolonged rant about myspace and its difficiencies (which is now enhanced with another gripe) to some friends, I decided to get off my ass and finally give the softer, social side of web2.0 a fair shake as an ends in itself. What the hell, I’ll try anything once…

Update: Turns out I was write the first time — social networking is a waste of time. So here I am, back to hosting my own solution, this time in WordPress.
