The Bipolar Lisp Programmer, an essay posted to comp.lang.lisp by Mark Tarver, brilliantly sums up many of my worst traits. Of course, I never realized quite how many BBMs there must be out there. If only one of us could work up the kind of sustained execution that would be required to organize them all, we could make one hell of an R&D outfit…

    I suspect most people are actually bipolar, with different wavelengths… some are years or months, some are days, hours or minutes. If the cycle is short enough, you might just ride through it with inertia, thus not even notice it.
