Moral relativity and Michael Vick…
In this SI article, John Rolfe makes a seemingly compelling argument that those ne’er-do-wells at PETA have a point about this Michael Vick thing…
PETA is calling for the public’s assistance in demanding that the NFL add cruelty to animals “in all its forms” to the list of offenses in the league’s code of personal conduct.
Perhaps Mr. Rolfe isn’t aware of what PETA views as “animal cruelty” — but for his own sake, let’s hope he’s not a pet owner (or rather, a slave owner in PETA parlance).
And hell, isn’t it a bit of a slippery slope to start laying down a moralistic argument against dogfighting. What about hunting? Fishing…really? Sure, for now they say “drowning, hanging or electrocuting” dogs is wrong. But before you know it they may start saying it’s wrong to have a meaningful, sexual relationship with your pet…
Stay out of our bedrooms, PETA!

Now I’m not so sure about us getting a dog when we move to the cabin…
